Every story has its seeds sown long before it ever reaches the light of day, and in the heart of every storyteller, there’s an intimate, unique tale behind every narrative they craft. That spark, however, merely slumbered, tucked away deep within me as I contented myself with weaving tales around Perkins's vibrant life experiences. Years became decades, and as the winds of time blew, I discovered a new path for my beloved character, Zak Bates, and his eco-adventure companions – a path that led back to the verdant expanse of the South American rainforests. In pursuit of authenticity, I turned to the vast knowledge of the Internet, only to be met with a surprising reflection of my own past – the article I had penned about John and his Pachamama journeys.

The same yearning flared to life once more, this time with an added sense of urgency.
